Lucille C. Henderson

Lucille Cabaniss Henderson, died Feb. 23, 2007 at 102 years old. She was born January 17, 1905 in Sylvania, Ga. to parents Robert S. and Leila Powell Cabaniss and moved to Savannah as a young child.

Lucille was a member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, Samuel T. Senter Sunday School Class and was active in the Share and Care Ministry of the church until she was 91.

She retired as a United States Deputy Marshal for the Southern District of Georgia and was a lifetime member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

She was preceded in death by her husband, S. Lee Henderson, son in law Samuel H. Crovatt, sisters Eloise Cullen and Inez Earnest.

Survivors include daughter, Nancy Henderson Crovatt, Decatur, Ga., son, C. Gerald Henderson, Moultrie, Ga., brother and sister in law, Robert S. Cabaniss and Grace Silva Cabaniss, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, February 26, 2007, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral services: Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Internment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
